Way of St. James

10 julio, 2014 - Por Graciela Camiña

The Camino de Santiago or Way of Saint James, is the Europe’s oldest pilgrimage route and also the most travelled. We propose seven different and unique experiences along the seven historic itineraries that make up The Way. But we will discover them in an unusual manner: by bike, on a 4×4, on horseback, on a sail boat, on a catamarán, and on foot.

We will be crossing small mountain hamlets, villages overflowing with history and fishing towns. Along the way we will taste Galicia’s cuisine accompanied by its excellent wines, we will relax in thermae, stroll along endless wild beaches and witness the many unusual phenomena that the natural landscape has to offer.

In Santiago pleasant surprises await us. In the square known as Praza do Obradoiro nwe will marvel at the cathedral’s fascinating façade, while inside we will discover its hidden treasures and carry out all the traditional rites. From the rooftop we will have the whole city at an arm’s reach. We will discover its old quarter, and go tapas-dining and wine-drinkingalong its most typical streets. We will become immersed in the smells and flavours of the Fresh Produce Market y or “Mercado de Abastos”, and we will discover a wealth of natural areas.
