Defined like a «romanic, metallurgical and oceanic» city, Gijon has one of the most important ports, both in the present and ancient times.
The city was part of the «Ruta de la Plata» by sea. It will be worth your while to take a stroll along this nice sports port.
An advice to know better this maritime tradition in the Asturian city, we visit Cimadevilla, an old neighborhood of fishermen.
It streets have many buildings, as well as monuments with centuries of history
Gijon still conserves its medieval air, and in some places one can see remains of the old Roman wall
